"Over the river and through the woods to grandmas' house we go".......do you think of this song when thanksgiving draws near......I do. I remember practicing this song over and over again for my school choir. It evokes pleasant Norman Rockwell memories with picture perfect thanksgiving goodies that dress the dinning room table. The delicious aroma's invite us to gather together with family and friends and enjoy good food and good company.

I liken the internet to a bountiful feast of opportunities that invite us to partake of positive interaction with people who we may never have had the chance to met in no other way. I am thankful for my website and thankful for the people that it has been my good fortune to met over the internet.....people who have fed me in creative ways and in friendship.

This months newsletter will introduce you to Letta Meinen who I am thankful to know
and who has touched my life in a positive manner.

*********************************************************************************

My name is Letta Meinen and I am 78 years old living in both Iowa and Texas. My life has been changed since my husband passed away after a long illness in March 2003. I am now taking time to spend with my writing. I have an Internet Web site I have been writing on since 1999 called www.epinions.com/user-grandgram, that is how you can find me on epinions' website. I wrote a review back in October 2, 2000 called “Cinnamon Spice and all that’s Nice” that Rochelle Beach found in her Internet search of Cinnamon. She e-mailed me as she thought it would make a nice book. She gave me her web site of her wonderful cinnamon items and I told her I already had a book on Cinnamon History.

The book “The Cinnamon Stick Tales of the Spice Trade” was a project of a Writing Course I was taking back in 1989. It was my love of cinnamon and the many ways it could be used that prompted the book. I felt since children love this spice so much I should write the history of spices as a Social Studies book. Well the book was not published then until I received an e-mail from Rochelle Beach and decided Why Not!

I rewrote the book and added many suggestions on what you can do with cinnamon and spices. We thought at first to make small pamphlets of each section of the book but the history needed to be in one book. I did a search of the Internet to find a publisher and found http://www.booklocker.com which publishes books completely edited and formatted to a small size book.

If you are interested in checking out more about this book and how to purchase it please my web site www.booksbyletta.com/TheCinnamonStick.html with samples of what is in the book including pictures and recipes.

Just a small postscript from Me (Rochelle) I was totally surprised and honored to receive an autographed copy of Letta's book earlier this year as I read through it I found that she graciously included a small write up about Cinna-Minnies and included a picture of the Cinnamon doll that I made for her. She also honored me when she wrote a wonderful review about our website and had it posted at www.epinions.com.

Thanks Letta!
Rochelle
